Wide reading martin Luther King speech

In this historical speech Martin Luther King a man trying to make a difference for his people. In this speech, he tells a story of injustice that 100 years ago in signing the declaration of independence they were freed but he tells us otherwise. As as we all know they weren’t there was a great injustice towards his people that would still be overcame till this day. But he stood up there and he spoke of a dream he had, a dream for the future one where “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.” and he spoke further of this dream. And as he rose above so did the crowds and on that day he brought the big problems of America to the forefront and took another step in the right direction for his people.

Martin Luther King was interesting to me because he was standing up agaist America he was the under dog, but it did not phase him.

Hi Jacob

-Not Achieved for this entry.

Great material but your response is largely quotations or paraphrasing. To achieve you need to provide personal insights in to the text and the meanings of what is there. Also essential is the ability to make connections to yourself and society. This was a perfect piece to tie into the current BLM movement so more a missed opportunity here as this has plenty of content worthy of analysis in a response.
