Explain how a flim technique is used to establish Davids charecter in the opening scene?

Statment: In this movie the music may first show that David is sad or feels trapped, but then when he gets on stage he is loved by so many hes exited and full of energy. Then the music slows down and dies out as bad news hits the papers.
