Languange features romeo & juliet.

A metaphor is a hidden, implict or implied comparison between two seemingly unrealated things. It is a figure of speachin which two strikingly different conceps or things are compared to one another based off a single common chareristic.

Example:

“He that hath the steerage of my cource, direct my sail.”

Romeo speaks these words just as he begins to make his way to the capulet ball.In this metaphore, Romeo compares his fate to a ship. The common characteristic this binds them and brings us meaning as the fact that the ship can not control the path it takes, its captin does this .Romeos fate is simple as he belives that someone/something is in control of it for him. This links to the larger nation of fate thats communicated in the play as it shows the acknoligement from from one of the main charicters the greater powerrules their actions. This was a common belife of the people in Elisiblethin England ,who believed their life path was pre-determined by God.

“Peer’d forth the golden window of the east”

This metaphore is when,Benvolio is comparing the butiful sun to a spectacular “golden window of the east”. This comparison gives specail value the a charicters personallity and brightness of the sun. Since the sun rises in the east, the metaphor of a window is tell us that the sun or the rise of a new day acts as a wonderful opening to amazing opportunities and new beginnings. It also value the sun and the things it brings us.
